Meet James Roberts, Roofing Project Manager Today

What got you into the roofing industry in the first place? Why help with roofing instead of serving in other industries?

My previous job was as a project manager for a company that does industrial work, servicing power plants, etc. The job I had before that involved helping people fix up their homes and after I’d moved on from it, I realized how much I valued interacting directly with customers, and missed it. So when a good friend let me know about an opportunity to get back into the residential side of things, I pursued the opportunity, and am very happy to now be on the Red Rock Roofing team and working with customers face to face once again.

What is your favorite part about your job with Red Rock Roofing?

The variety is terrific. There’s different things that need to be accomplished each day, and the location of the work changes frequently. It’s great getting to see so many different parts of Colorado.
As for the company, it’s wonderful having such positive co-workers. Everyone’s helpful, welcoming, with good sense of humor, and trying to bring the best out of one another.

In your own words, what is the Red Rock Roofing Advantage?

Trust. Red Rock Roofing is great at building trust and honoring it start to finish. We operate with transparency and empower customers with as much information and insight as they could want. One example of this is the free inspection video we provide for potential customers— this lets them see precisely what we see and have the terms and everything at their disposal so they can do their own research if they like. Another example is we’re pretty good at explaining how the insurance process is going to work. Dealing with insurance is a thing some customers find daunting at the outset, so we especially like letting them know what to expect so they have that control and peace of mind before taking the next step.

When vetting a roofing company looking at your roof, what questions should homeowners ask to determine if they’re credible?

Roofing is a word of mouth business. If you go online and read the reviews for that company, that’ll tell you everything you need to know.

What do you find yourself doing in your spare time?

Mostly spending time with family and exercising. I like to keep my boys active, and they like soccer, so I like soccer too. When it’s just me, you’ll find me weight training at the gym, hiking, or playing basketball.
