Working with Red Rock Roofing was indeed exceptional. The people were very easy to work with both during the sale and during installation. They listened to what I wanted, listened to and answered all my questions. The crew (of 8 I think) were on site from just before daylight until the job was done in the evening. A native English speaker was present all day and the clean-up was spotless. I did not supply a price because a number is meaningless unless you know the type of roofing, size of the roof, yada yada! I had other bids and can say the price was very fair. If you need a roof you won't find a better company!Posted on Google![]()

We had our roof inspected for free due to a hail storm. Once our roof was inspected it was determined that there was no hail damage but we will missing a vent cover for our attic. With heavy rain in the forecast they came out and repaired that the next morning! Fast, easy, and friendly! I’ll be having Red Rocks inspect my roof in a yearly basis! Amazing customer service!Posted on Google![]()

Not every roofing problem calls for a replacement. We explain what needs attention, what can be repaired and when replacement makes sense so you can protect your home and plan confidently.

Denver businesses, property managers and building owners need roofing solutions that protect the property without creating unnecessary disruption.
Red Rock Roofing provides commercial roofing services for office and retail properties, industrial and warehouse buildings, multifamily communities, mixed-use properties, churches, nonprofit facilities and small businesses.
Commercial roofing requires more than responding to the latest leak. We help owners understand the condition of the complete system so they can plan repairs, maintenance and eventual replacement more effectively.
Denver weather does not always give property owners much time to prepare.
Hail and wind can damage shingles, flashing, gutters, vents and other exterior components. Some damage creates an immediate leak. Other damage weakens the roofing system and becomes a larger problem over time.
You do not need to determine the extent of the damage yourself.
Our team can inspect the roof, document visible conditions and explain whether repair, monitoring or replacement should be considered. When an insurance claim is involved, we provide clear documentation and help you understand the roofing portion of the process.
The insurance carrier determines coverage. Our responsibility is to provide accurate information about the condition of your roof and the work required to restore it properly.
Denver is constantly moving forward. Historic homes stand alongside new construction. Established neighborhoods continue to evolve. Commercial districts, multifamily properties and growing communities each bring different roofing needs.
Red Rock Roofing has the experience to meet them.
A roof is too important for guesswork. We give you the information you need to make a confident decision about your property.

Tell us what you have noticed, whether it is an active leak, an aging roof or concern following a Denver storm.
We inspect the roof and provide video documentation so you can understand its condition without climbing a ladder.
We explain our findings and discuss the appropriate next step. That could mean monitoring the roof, completing a repair or planning a replacement.
If roofing work is needed, your dedicated project manager keeps the project moving and keeps you informed – from material selection and permitting through installation and cleanup.
We believe good roofing begins with clear information and ends with work that stands the test of time.
Denver roofs face demanding conditions throughout the year.
Strong ultraviolet exposure can gradually break down roofing materials.
Rapid temperature changes cause roofing systems to expand and contract.
Snow and ice can expose drainage, flashing and ventilation problems.
Spring and summer storms can bring hail and high winds with little warning.
A roof can look intact while having bruised shingles, loosened flashing, exposed fasteners, damaged vents or compromised seals around penetrations. Small problems can eventually allow water into the roofing system, insulation or interior of the building.
Denver also has a wide range of property types. A historic home near central Denver may have very different decking, ventilation and flashing needs than a newer home in a developing neighborhood. Commercial buildings and multifamily properties may use low-slope roofing systems that require specialized materials, drainage and maintenance.
That is why a professional roof inspection matters. Our team examines the complete roofing system – not just the shingles – and provides video documentation of what we find.

Not every roofing problem requires a complete replacement. Depending on the roof’s age, condition and damage, a targeted repair may be the right solution.
Our goal is to recommend the work the roof actually needs – not the largest possible project.

A replacement may be appropriate when a roof has widespread storm damage, extensive wear, recurring leaks or materials that have reached the end of their service life.
Red Rock Roofing manages the replacement process from the initial inspection through final cleanup. We help you understand the scope of work, material options, warranties, code considerations and project schedule before installation begins.
Our experienced crews install durable roofing systems designed to withstand Colorado’s changing weather.

The right roofing material depends on the property, roof design, budget and long-term goals.
As certified installers for leading roofing manufacturers, we help homeowners compare appearance, durability, impact resistance and available warranty protection.
Roofing work in the City and County of Denver must comply with Denver’s adopted building codes, local amendments and permitting requirements.
The code that applies can depend on the property type, building size, roofing system and scope of work. Red Rock Roofing confirms the applicable requirements before beginning a permitted roofing project.
According to Denver’s published roofing guidance, a roofing permit is required for:
A roofing square equals 100 square feet. Roofing permits are issued separately from general construction permits, including new construction projects.
Buildings located within a historic district or designated as individual landmarks may need approval from Denver Landmark Preservation before the roofing permit can be issued.

Commercial and multifamily buildings measuring 25,000 square feet or more are subject to additional review. Roofing permits for these properties do not qualify for Denver’s standard quick-permit process.
These projects may also be subject to Denver’s Green Buildings Ordinance, which can require the property owner to meet applicable sustainability requirements when a roof permit is issued.
The following code sections are identified in Denver’s official Roofing Guide and Checklist. The summaries explain their practical meaning for property owners and are not substitutes for the complete adopted code, Denver amendments or manufacturer instructions.
| Code | Subject | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| IRC R903.1 | General requirements | Roof systems must follow applicable code and manufacturer installation instructions. |
| IRC R903.2 | Flashing | Flashing must prevent moisture from entering roof and wall assemblies. |
| IRC R903.2.1 | Flashing locations | Flashing is required at roof openings, roof-to-wall intersections and changes in roof slope. |
| IRC R903.2.2 | Crickets and saddles | Certain vertical roof projections wider than 30 inches require a cricket or saddle. |
| IRC R903.4 | Roof drainage | Roofs must drain over their edges or use drains at low points. |
| IRC R903.4.1 | Secondary drainage | Some enclosed-edge roofs require overflow drains or scuppers. |
| IRC R905.1.1 | Underlayment | Type, attachment and layers depend on the roof covering, slope and conditions. |
| IRC R905.2.2 | Asphalt-shingle slope | Asphalt shingles require a slope of at least 2:12; slopes below 4:12 require enhanced underlayment. |
| IRC R905.2.4.1 | Wind resistance | Shingles must carry the appropriate ASTM wind classification. |
| IRC R905.2.6 | Attachment | Fasteners and fastening patterns must meet code and manufacturer requirements. |
| IRC R905.2.8.2 | Valleys | Valley lining must use an approved method and follow manufacturer instructions. |
| IRC R905.2.8.3 | Sidewall flashing | Headwall, step and kick-out flashing must be properly sized, counterflashed and sealed. |
| IRC R905.2.8.4 | Other flashing | Flashing is required at walls, stacks, vent pipes, chimneys and similar penetrations. |
| IRC R905.2.8.5 | Drip edge | Drip edge is required at eaves and rake edges with prescribed overlap, fastening and placement. |
| IRC R908.2 | Structural loads | Roof components must support the roof system and installation loads. |
| IRC R908.3 | Roof replacement | Existing covering generally must be removed to the deck unless an allowed single-layer re-cover applies. |
| IRC R908.5 | Existing materials | Rusted, damaged or deteriorated flashing must be replaced. |
IRC R905.2.8.5
Drip edge helps direct water away from the roof’s edges and protect the underlying wood. Denver’s roofing checklist requires it along the eaves and rake edges of asphalt-shingle roofs. Sections must overlap by at least 2 inches and extend at least ¼ inch below the roof sheathing and 2 inches onto the roof deck. Underlayment goes over the drip edge at the eaves and beneath it at the rakes.
IRC R905.2.8.3
Flashing helps prevent leaks where a roof meets a wall. Denver’s roofing checklist specifies a minimum 4-by-4-inch profile for continuous headwall flashing and step flashing, with a separate step-flashing piece for each shingle. Flashing must be counterflashed with metal or the exterior wall finish and properly sealed. Kick-out flashing at the end of a sidewall must direct water away from the wall and onto the roof or into a gutter.
IRC R905.2.8.2
Valley lining must be installed before the shingles and according to the approved installation method. Denver’s checklist specifies minimum dimensions for open metal, open roll-roofing and closed valleys and states that metal is not permitted inside a closed valley.
IRC R908.3
Denver’s guidance requires removal to the roof deck when two or more layers of roof covering exist. The exposed deck must be evaluated, and damaged, deteriorated or unsuitable decking may need repair or replacement.
Denver’s published roofing checklist states that a self-adhering ice barrier extending two feet inside the exterior wall is not required at eaves and rakes under Denver’s stated climatic criteria. The product manufacturer, approved roofing system or conditions on a particular roof may still require or justify additional protection.
Building codes, local amendments, permit requirements and enforcement policies can change. Requirements may vary based on the property address, building type, roof design and scope of work. This information is provided for general educational purposes and is not legal, engineering or code-compliance advice. Current requirements should be confirmed with the City and County of Denver before work begins.
Code information reviewed September 2026.

Denver has grown from a regional center into one of the West’s most recognized cities, but its neighborhoods still tell distinct stories.
Historic homes in areas such as Washington Park, Congress Park, Capitol Hill and the Highlands may contain older decking, multiple roofing layers or ventilation systems that need careful evaluation. Mid-century neighborhoods often have their own roof shapes and construction details. Newer infill homes can include complex rooflines, rooftop living areas and multiple penetrations.
Denver’s commercial buildings are just as varied. The city includes older neighborhood storefronts, modern offices, warehouses, mixed-use developments and large multifamily communities. Each type of property requires a roofing approach appropriate to its design and use.
Across all of them, the purpose of the roof remains the same: protect the people and property beneath it. That responsibility is something we take seriously.

Red Rock Roofing is fully licensed and insured and maintains certifications with leading roofing manufacturers.
These certifications reflect our investment in training, installation quality and professional roofing practices. They may also provide customers with access to enhanced roofing systems and stronger manufacturer warranty options.
Most importantly, we stand behind our work and the experience we provide.
Standing for Greatness is not just what we say. It is how we show up.

Understanding roofing code language can make it easier to review a contractor’s proposal, permit requirements or insurance estimate.
Can you meet with my insurance adjuster?
Yes. When appropriate, our team can be present during the adjuster’s inspection and provide documentation related to the roof’s condition and proposed scope of work.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Denver?
Yes. Roof replacement requires a Denver roofing permit. Repairs exceeding 10 percent of the roof area or two roofing squares, whichever is smaller, also require a permit. Different requirements may apply to large commercial or multifamily buildings.
Do you provide commercial roofing in Denver?
Yes. We provide inspections, repair, maintenance and replacement services for commercial, multifamily and low-slope roofing systems throughout Denver.
Does Denver allow a new roof over an existing roof?
Denver requires removal to the roof deck when two or more existing layers are present. An approved re-cover may be possible over a single layer when the roof and project satisfy applicable requirements.
Does Denver require ice and water shield?
Denver’s published checklist currently states that the standard self-adhering ice barrier extending two feet inside the exterior wall is not required at eaves and rakes. It may still be required by the manufacturer or recommended for vulnerable locations.
How do I know whether hail damaged my roof?
Hail damage is not always visible from the ground. Possible signs include dented gutters or vents, loose granules, damaged shingles and new water intrusion. A professional inspection is the most reliable way to evaluate the roof.
How often should a Denver roof be inspected?
We recommend an inspection at least once a year and after a significant hailstorm, wind event or suspected leak. Regular inspections can identify smaller issues before they become more disruptive.
Should I file an insurance claim before scheduling an inspection?
You may want to understand the apparent condition of the roof before deciding whether to file a claim. Red Rock Roofing can inspect and document visible damage, but your insurance company determines whether the loss is covered.
What is included in the complimentary video roof inspection?
We inspect the visible components of the roofing system and record video so you can see the conditions we find. We explain the results and discuss whether the roof needs repair, replacement or continued monitoring.
What type of roofing is best for a Denver home?
The best material depends on the roof design, property, budget and priorities. Architectural asphalt and impact-resistant shingles are common choices. Metal, tile and synthetic materials may also be appropriate.
You do not have to guess about the condition of your roof.
Whether you are dealing with storm damage, an active leak or a roof that may be reaching the end of its useful life, Red Rock Roofing will give you clear information and an honest recommendation.
See what we see. Understand your options. Move forward with confidence.
